Visiting a place for the first time is thrilling and exciting, but could also come with some anxiety if you don’t know the best place to stay. Brisbane is a beautiful and interesting city, and you can stay in almost any area. However, it’s also true that there are some areas you can visit which will give you the best overall experience of Brisbane.
As someone who has lived here for years, I have an insider’s view on the places that will give you the best experience when you come to the city. If you are a first-time visitor, you should pick one of these areas because they are central, close to the action and easy to access. So, from a native’s point of view, here are the best places to stay in Brisbane.
If you are new in Brisbane and want to get fully immersed in the city, the best place to stay would be Brisbane’s Central Business District (or CBD). The CBD is the heart of the city and is most central to all the sights and attractions of Brisbane. You will be spoilt for choice in food, drink, shopping, music and entertainment of different forms. Here, you can fully experience the best that Brisbane has to offer from burger joints, to riverside bistros and charming cafes.
The best part about staying in CBD is the easy access to almost everywhere. From here, you can easily access practically everywhere. And if you love to visit markets, you will love the Riverside Garden Market, which is at the City Botanic gardens. There’s also a farmer’s market every Wednesday right in the city.
Another popular place to stay in Brisbane is South Bank. This is perfect if you prefer not to be right in the middle of the hub and action. It offers a slower pace and showcases Brisbane’s nature scene. The parklands and river view are particularly lovely from South Bank also.
South Bank is quieter, and you are not cut off from the action as it’s a walking distance from CBD. It also has its fair share of events, eateries and a great day and night scene. Also, if you have kids, then this is definitely the best place to stay. There are lots of activities to keep them busy.
Inner City Suburbs
The inner-city suburbs also provide a great option if you’re looking for where to stay while in Brisbane. You can choose from suburbs like Kangaroo Point and Fortitude Valley. These areas are different, but charming and have their proximity to CBD in common.
If you are looking for stunning scenery, closeness to nature and great sports events, then you should definitely stay at Kangaroo Point. While you can experience the great outdoors, it’s not all nature either. It has an array of eateries, cafes and bars where you can relax and unwind. You can join an adventure club here or go antique shopping. There is no lack of things to do in Kangaroo Point.
Kangaroo Point’s laid-back vibes and picturesque scenery make it an appealing place to stay in Brisbane. And, it is also where you’ll find our affordable holiday apartments, which serve as ideal accommodation in Brisbane.
Fortitude Valley on the other hand is an eclectic area. If you are searching for an area with a bit of character and cultural immersion, then you should probably try this suburb. It is known as the suburb that never sleeps and there is always something to do here, day or night. It’s great for the young and hip and if you love to be in the thick of the action, you’ll love this place.
If you are in Brisbane for the fun, Fortitude Valley is an entertainment hub and will keep you occupied with having a good time.
Where is the best place to stay in Brisbane? There are lots of really nice places to stay once you are in the city, but if this is your first time here and you are looking for the best place to stay in Brisbane, Brisbane CBD, South Bank or Inner City Suburbs such as Kangaroo Point will ensure that you thoroughly enjoy your stay and have a memorable experience.
