The Ultimate Brisbane Markets Guide for 2017, Part 1

Australia is famous for its local markets and Brisbane is no exception. Throughout the year, Brisbane hosts some wonderful local markets and visiting them is a great way to fill a day in our city.

Continue reading as I list some of the best markets that Brisbane hosts. This is only part one of a series of posts, so make sure to stay tuned!

1. Riverside Markets

Brisbane Riverside Markets

Brisbane Riverside Markets

The Riverside Markets is one of my personal favourite local markets in Brisbane. This market features live music, fashion, art, craft, gifts, international cuisine, great coffee and much more! Definitely worth visiting for its vibrant atmosphere and positive vibes.

The Riverside Markets take place every Sunday from 8:00am-3:00pm at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens in Brisbane CBD. These markets are easily accessible from Bridgewater Terraces holiday apartments.

2. The Collective Markets

I highly recommend you to check out The Collective Markets on your Brisbane holiday. This market is famous for its unique arts and crafts, homewares, designer fashion, exotic collectibles, handmade jewellery and a lot more! There’s also live music and plenty of cafes to keep you entertained whilst you’re at this market.

The Collective Markets are held every Friday (5pm), Saturday (10am) and Sunday (9am) at South Bank Parklands. They are also close to Bridgewater Terraces, which makes them a favourite with guests!

3. First Friday Twilight Markets

The First Friday Twilight Markets is less of a market and more of a picnic! It features market stalls, Brisbane’s best food trucks, live music, a licensed bar and even a jumping castle. This is a family friendly market, so bring along your kids, friends or anybody else as you please!

The First Friday Twilight Markets happen on the first Friday of every month from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Oxley United Football Club in Corinda.

4. Jan Powers Farmers Markets

Treat yourself to fresh produce including honey, juices, bread, ginger beer, meat, pasta, seafood, small goods and fruits and vegetables at the Jan Powers Farmers Markets. You’ll also find a variety of global cuisine at this market. The best part – everything you find at this market is organic and healthy.

The Jan Powers Farmers Markets take place every Wednesday from 8:00am-6:00pm at the Queen Street Mall in Brisbane CBD. These markets also lie close to our apartments at Bridgewater Terraces.

There you have it, these are four of Brisbane’s best local markets. I’ll be adding more to this list in future blog posts.

If you stay with us at Bridgewater Terraces, the Riverside Markets will be easily accessible by taking a ferry. So, if you haven’t already, book a holiday apartment with us today!
